The Theme for our quilt show will be fans. Please share any quilts with fans for the bed peel at the show. It will be held on May 1 & 2, 2010. Please keep these days open!! We will need volunteers to help us. Also remember to enter your quilts in the show. Bring your FAN quilts for our bed peel.

June’s meeting will feature Terri Kirchner, artist, quilter and incoming president of the Wisconsin Quilt Museum. She will speak and present a trunk show on her work as well as an update on the progress of the Museum. For her fee she asks that each member bring two fat quarters, 100% cotton, quilt quality, batik fabric in color range of yellow; that can be any yellow from light yellow to yellow orange to gold, with or with out a print. Operation Snuggles
The quilts needed for children listed below are for a new unit. We also need quilts for the wounded Wisconsin soldiers from the Fort Hood shooting. Please think about making wounded Soldiers’ quilts (they should be at least 70 by 86). Kris Lindsay and Kathy Doman will be collecting the quilts as well as Ye Olde School House, Material Matters, and Royce Quilting. Any sized quilt will be accepted. Freedom Quilts WI Sisters will be changing its name to The WI Memorial Quilt Project. We meet at the American Legion Post #36 at the Mutual Mall Building on Main St. in West Bend. Please continue to make single quilt blocks or gold star quilts for the families of the fallen. Blocks need to be 12 ½ inches (12 inch finished), and in red, white, and blue materials. We will resume the 4th Wednesday of the month meetings in April when the weather is nicer. Call Belle Wichlacz at (262) 335-0318 for questions.
Kathy Doman will be taking buses to Rosemont Quilt Show next week Friday, April 16. The uses are leaving from the Washington County Fair Grounds at 7:30 a.m. The cost is $35.00. Please call Kathy at 338-0054 to sign up.
Phyllis Wilson would like to thank all of those people who made a square for the beautiful quilt that was recently given to her.
From the Treasurer:
In January, I paid six food pantries in our area $426.00 each. The money came from Grandma’s Attic on the Silent Auction of last year’s quilt show. In Washington County they are: Hartford Food Pantry, Food Pantry of Southeastern Washington County, Slinger Food Pantry, and Full Shelf Food Pantry. Family Sharing is in Grafton in Ozaukee county. F.A.C.T. Food Pantry is in Menomonee Falls in Waukesha County. All of the Food Pantries have responded with a Thank you.
